Because my therapist is a psychiatrist with her time split between two offices, and my work is an hour away, I really do understand the idea of not having enough time when you need it. It's difficult.
One thing that's helped me is journaling. I journaled a lot in the first year or so of therapy. It helped get junk "out". sometimes it clarified what needed to be brought to the therapy table, and what I could just let go after writing about it.
