I am trying to find out if others have had the experience of a depression suddenly getting worse right before it starts to improve.

Unfortunately I can't remember how other depressions ended. This is frustrating. How can it be that I can't remember the end of something as horrific as a major depressive disorder???

But no matter how hard I try I can't remember. I only know that my major depressive disorders seem to last about 18 months then start to break up.

Right now my depression seems to have almost doubled in its severity after months of getting reduced.

I am very disappointed but am hoping maybe this is just the death throes of a major depressive disorder that should by now be going away.
