Hi, I am not familiar with anti psychotics . Had a low dose of seroquel for a short while as sleeping aid. Since a couple of days I am on risperidone 1mg at night. Pdoc prescribed it because I still suffer from chronic stress, hyperacusis, hyperarousal and derealization.
But it makes me extremely groggy and sleepy, just as we lowered mirtazapine from 45 to 15 which finally made me get up after 9 hours sleep instead of 11-12. Now it feels like a step back and the derealization is even worse because if the groggyness.
Will this side effect lessen over time? And how long does it take before it starts to work?
