I just got back from driving 4+ hours to deliver Henry, Golden pup, to the rep from Golden Retriever Rescue. She is an angel! Her life is rescuing, training and raising Goldens. She is going to keep Henry for a few days at her home with her dogs and then take her to the prison to be paired with an inmate. She has promised to keep me posted as to Henry's progress.
After giving Henry a bath last night, I almost called her to say I couldn't part with her. We cuddled on the sofa with her damp fur and lots of loving kisses. Today, my pets are all wandering around looking for Henry and her goofiness. But this dog is so special...so smart and needs the time and training which I lack. I think she will excel and be in a better situation.
