I used to think that eating lots of sugary stuff would give me more energy. I used to eat candy and refined carbs all day, including in the morning when I woke up. (I was a college student at the time, so I ate lots of junk food.

) It actually made me less energized, though. I was also underweight/sickly from eating that way.
Eating healthy, well-balanced meals helps give me more energy. It also helps to start off the day with breakfast. I have 0 energy if I don't eat breakfast.
Some of my favorite things to eat are: granny smith apples, sandwiches on whole wheat bread, nuts, yogurt, oatmeal, crackers, edamame.
