Not really whining (well, okay, yeah really whining) but seeking advice. A non-doctor-goer like myself only goes in when pain or fear of my imminent demise forces me to. Colds usually resolve themselves so I don't bother. However, this recurring cold now comes with one huge red quite painful tonsil. Should I try to get some antibiotics? What do you think of the Minute Clinic type deals in the pharmacy? And would it be less expensive than going to my family practice ($125 plus labs) and seeing an MD instead of a NP?
