I've only ever once been before a judge, which was when I was sectioned. I had a great lawyer; I met her a few minutes before the hearing. I had written 3 pages of notes and suggestions she could use to get me out, but she barely even looked at it. And her appeal came down to "Breadfish wants to go home, but it's clear to me she should stay here!"
