Sorry you had some challenges at a meeting. I think it was NA? Some group culture is pretty strict. You might have to shop around for a group for you. One strategy in early recovery and meeting participation is just to listen and look out for someone you relate to or understand well. Then you can approach her and see if she will be your sponsor. Within the sponsor/sponsee relationship, you should be able to share absolutely everything. This will help you develop relational accountability, which helps for strong sobriety.
