Sherri: Hi Lucidjane sweetie....welcome to PC!

The best I can tell you hon is to just be you and share what you've got to say because whatever it is...it means something to you.

Sometimes looking in and reaching out requires courage which you now show, so thank you.

I've experienced the "din" but it can be contributed to head noise, but when we others chat, its more of a specific kind of communication that we are embarking on which is just us because its still a mystery about it all.

Almost any form of MI can bring about head voices, but you would really need to work with a mental health professional to get to the base cause.

Upon rereading your question about alters, some alters are there to just hold a fragment of memory....it's there job to safe keep the memory.

An "alter" (I hate that word) has a job to do, a function, a reason for being. For us, it's to hold and hide bad memories, do a coping skill, deal with people, places, or things. We are like Baskin Robbins...a flavor for everything!

Everyones MI is different, so hopefully others will come forward with some personal insight.
