Most goals don't necessarily play out the way one expects them to; situations come up and the plan has to be "changed". Do you start with some alternate scenariors in case things don't work out or do you just go-for-it?

I just dropped my grad school classes, will probably not bother getting a degree now, but a couple fortuitous things have come up in the meantime (since Thursday) so I have another, parallel track I'm following. I have been going to school since 2002 as my "hobby" and since retiring in 2005 it has taken on even more importance for me so I was worried about dropping out. I'm a little concerned about how easily the "next" thing jumped up and bit me :-) but also relieved and glad to have a new path that seems good at the moment.
