I have a bunch of anger issues and my psychologist is trying to teach me to be mindful and "frontrun" the anger before it occurs. Right now, I'm learning how to set up my mind/thoughts to deal with stressful situations, triggers, and other things that put me over the top. The goal is to re-train the mind to simply "be" and not react or go overboard.
It is a lot of work - life gets in the way. I find that I forget to do the things I need to do in order to put my mind in that state of peace. For example, work is a big trigger for me. On the way to work, there's traffic, thoughts about work, thoughts about bills, thoughts about other things to do, and I am working hard to focus on the mind only so when I get to work, the mind and the spirit are ready and willing.
