There's a two-fold interpretation here....

First - this on the surface could be you reflecting on the state of things where you live. (Having a literal translation of a dream isn't unheard of). I'd doubt it's technically a prophetic dream, as those dreams don't come with questions about the outcome - in fact, the outcome is commonly the point. In either case, this is only the surface meaning...

Dreams are, at their core, about the dreamer directly. Here we have you in the midst of a civil war. A great fight over the dreamscape and a catalyst for change. And you were happy during the dreams, which means that this isn't a dream telling you that something needs to happen "or else" (as would normally be the case).

When we see warring, it usually signifies that there is a massive change going on in how a person operates and acts in the world. Some larger change in perspective and motivation. The fight between the "old you" and the "new you" is reflected in the two sides of the battle. And of course it's messy and destructive. The biggest changes are.

More importantly, the fact that you're happy signifies that this is a positive change, and that you're ready for it, even if in the waking world you're fighting it (otherwise the dream wouldn't be recurring for years).

--> Is there some part of you that you're trying to let go of and move beyond? Is there some other part of you trying to gain a hold in how you view the world and how you react to it? How is the latter one a positive change in your life? In what ways would allowing this change empower you and build you up?
