I've been battling Depression for well over 40 years, I was probably suffering symptoms undiagnosed even younger but Child Psychology/Psychiatry was different back then. I have been on meds probably 80% of the time, with the maximum Mood elevation lifting from Severe to Moderate.
I do have days when things are ok. I felt good - apart from the pain - at my daughter's Wedding as I was doped up on double pain killers, but afterwards I felt crushing guilt for feeling positive for a while. This is always the pattern after an elevated Mood. Then I am hit by a deeper Depression for days after.
Dave.
