I don't think gender matters much to be honest.
Sex talk is uncomfortable period.
I'm a woman and my therapist is as well and the idea of talking about sex with her is horrifying. I've talked a bit about it, using euphemisms such as "intimacy" instead of "sex", stuff like that.
Perhaps it would be easier for you that way?
