My routine has changed recently. It used to be meds with a temperate, silent, and dark room; I would go right to sleep. Now it includes ice packs for the pain, which is hard because I hate the cold and it keeps me awake. However once the pain subsides, then off the packs come, and then I can nod off most nights.
