Tegretol is a mood stabilizer and saphris is a AP (depending on who you ask I guess) but those two types of meds are usually given for BP, and BPD is treated like BP is. However if you have BPD only, it's harder to treat. I have both and I've been through tons of trial and error. Im on trileptal, tegritals cousin and I didn't get stable until I started it. So I'd say it's a good choice. But I've never tried saphris. I'm sure someone on here has and can answer that question. Bug your husband all you want lol! I'm always curious about new meds I'm put on and most of the times Google just tells me how I'm going to die from it or grow horns [emoji6]
