It's an excellent question.

I suppose you could start by asking yourself what about your personality may have led some to say that it doesn't lends itself to therapy.

Are you closed off to considering a variety of viewpoints?
Are you threatened if your personal status quo is subject to review?
Do you contend that "your way" is the "only way"?

Any of those things isn't a recipe for a thriving inter-personal therapeutic dynamic. It'd be like banging one's head against a wall and expecting to NOT get a headache.

Did anyone ever elaborate on why they made that contention about you and therapy? I'd sure as heck want them to back that up with clarified reasons.

If your answers aren't "yes" to any of the above, I'd think you'd be able to get at least some relief from therapy.

Maybe they were talking specifically about medication?
