I'm sorry you and your boyfriend are going through a difficult time.

You need to tell your boyfriend to call his therapist. You said that your boyfriend has been doing therapy for a few months and it has helped him a lot. Has your boyfriend stopped doing therapy? If not, then your boyfriend is well aware that he's catastrophizing. If so, then he needs to return to therapy as soon as possible. Also, it's essential that he do his "homework" (cognitive restructuring).
