This is just from the perspective of someone who's used to how things go in the USA, but it seems really inappropriate to me how the worker thinks it's any of his business how much time you spend in bed "all day."

I have to imagine theres plenty of laborers in Costa Rica looking for regular work ... could you maybe find someone who speaks english (so your Husband can also communicate) and who isn't overly comfortable with you?
