I hear you about events alone. I really prefer that now. I have been to so many scifi fantasy conventions with and without company. Without is so much easier and freeing. No debating on what to see or what times to come and go. When I get tired, I go relax. When I am ready to go, I do. Some have giant crowds but I never feel unsafe or bored. Pretty much everyone is friendly and the cosplay watching can't be beat. I always spend time trying to figure out who is who or what. Fav cosplay ever aliens from Sesame Street. Meep
