Yes, you are definitely ovulating. It should be the worse within the few days until the day you ovulate. That happens to me every month, but not so severe as you stated.

You should get your period exactly 14 days after you ovulate.

I am not sure what to tell you to do. HOw old are you? Maybe if you took antidepressants (to curb sexual desire)
Are you also depressed any other times? Do you also do crazy things during the month, such as driving fast, lashing out, pent up anger? Do you seem to get mad more often?
