I have about a million of these, but here is one that is especially "my song". This song is totally me because I have struggled with like all of these issues. It makes me think of the huge crisis I was in that finally lead me to ask a professor for help and I started therapy for the first time. I am so glad that I was pushed far enough (finally) that I took the risk and I opened myself up to her, so she could help me with problems that had never been discussed, let alone worked through.

This song addresses things I have struggled with like my health problems, over-eating, self-injury, feeling estranged from my spiritual side, blaming everyone but myself, blaming myself for everything, etc. Alanis said that, to her, this song is a PRAYER and she wants to get down on her knees every time she sings it. I feel the same way about this song. A lot of people don't get that, but I sure do. I think a lot of people here have been there.

And here it is...

THANK U (BY ALANIS MORISSETTE)
how 'bout getting off of these antibiotics?
how 'bout stopping eating when i'm full up?
how 'bout them transparent dangling carrots?
how 'bout that ever elusive kudo?
thank u india
thank u terror
thank u disillusionment
thank u frailty
thank u consequence
thank u, thank u silence
how 'bout me not blaming you for everything?
how 'bout me enjoying the moment for once?
how 'bout how good it feels to finally forgive you?
how 'bout grieving it all one at a time?
thank u india
thank u terror
thank u disillusionment
thank u frailty
thank u consequence
thank u, thank u silence
the moment i let go of it
was the moment i got more than i could handle
the moment i jumped off of it
was the moment i touched down
how 'bout no longer being massochistic?
how 'bout remembering your divinity?
how 'bout unabashedly bawling your eyes out?
how 'bout not equating death with stopping?
thank u india
thank u providence
thank u disillusionment
thank u nothingness
thank u clarity
thank u, thank u silence

GREAT THREAD, Pat!
