It means someone heard you and cares.
We don't always have the right words with which to reply, but we do still want posters to know they've been heard.
Idk if your method of speaking is right or wrong, I can't hear you speak, so I can't judge as to whether you have a harsh tone, I can't see you so I don't know if your face is unwelcoming when you speak, sooo in short, I don't know. And I doubt any other poster can answer your question to your satisfaction.
My advice?
Ask your friends what it is about how you speak to them that they find upsetting, and then see if they have a valid point, if you can fix it, or if they're just being unnecessary.
Best way to learn how to communicate better is to communicate.
