Therapists are paid to serve the needs of the client. If the therapist is acting in ways that are unhelpful to the client, then perhaps they do need to change. Therapists are not supposed to be themselves, they are supposed to help the client. They can be themselves on their own time.

Or if they cannot change or if it's just a bad match, then the client can fire them, but then that does put Sarah in a bind in this case.
