Hi Lavendersage,

Yes, breathe, meditate, listen to soothing music in a darkened room. Think on this: Your cv stood up to scrutiny and your qualifications make you competent. Your interview - stressful - showed your new Employer you were the best, most personable, most ideal fit for the team out of all the candidates. Your References - I assume they were taken - spoke highly of your skills and work ethic and confirmed your suitability.

In the minds of those who suffer Depression and Anxiety, we self-sabotage, thinking subconsciously that nothing good can ever happen to us, or that we are undeserving. We have to make a real effort to override these negatives, but it can be done. You can do it, you will succeed.

I would use the next fortnight to acclimatise myself to the new active hours, even try a dry-run commute if it is possible. Do not think you are going to jinx things by telling friends and family, talking about it more may make it more real and calm your mind. Above all else, believe in your abilities as others do.

Dave.
