I have some seriously bizarre-looking, rather large spots all over my calves. They're deep red and the largest one is about the size of a half-dollar. Sometimes they itch, sometimes they don't. I'm hoping someone will have a clue! I'd post a photo, but I have to shave my legs first or risk embarrassing myself all over the Internet .

I've had eczema before, and this doesn't seem similar. I have also had near-total bone marrow failure. When I was finally conscious enough, about 4 weeks into my 5 weeks in the hospital, to notice what the heck was going on around me, they had me sitting up in a chair one day and I happened to look down and shriek upon noticing that my legs were darn near purple from thousands of these little pin-prick spots. THOSE turned out to be from low platelets.

Since then (January 06), I've recovered from the aplastic anemia, but it left me with a blood clotting disorder. Odd things can happen when my blood thinner level is off, but this is the oddest so far. I haven't called my hematologist because I see him Monday anyway (hopefully it will still be warm enough to wear shorts!). I'm just hoping somebody has an idea of what I might be in for.
