When I first started Trileptal I was getting breakthrough bleeding between periods. Because I was doing well with Trileptal, my pdoc suggested going to a gyno since that was not his area of expertise. And we solved the problem (Nuva Ring).
I think gaining weight may be a big help. Did your gyno say anything about your meds and birth control combo? I know Trileptal makes BC less effective anyway..
