Hello Grace. I sincerely feel that he respects you for your decisions that you made not to live with him, and I dont feel that he meant that you were a bad person, but that he found someone else that was interested in his offer. His arrogance may have made it seem that he was insinuating that you were not good enough for him, but in reality you just chose not to be in a bizarre compromise of your life and boundaries. There is nothing worse than a person seeing himself in a light that doesnt exist or seeing the person willing to blow out the candle and move on to something better. It sort of reminds me of an old saying that used to be populor.
