I feel for you at the moment, sounds like the anxiety is closing in.

I'm sure you know this already but it' s worth remembering that your mind is trying to trick you. The fear isn't really in the candy, it's in your anxiety. We always try to project our fears out onto something else, but for me it never worked, I would
deal with one fear and then my mind would just make me afraid of something else. You need to deal with it at the root.

One good therapy for this is CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) it has a high success rate and I think the relapse rate is very low as well.

I don't know how it is in the US, but here in the UK we have specialist therapists who work differently from the psychs. Maybe you could ask about your options ?
