One thing that helped me with uncontrollable thoughts was listening to music while doing other things when alone. I can't seem to have these thoughts when I do that because they get drown by the music. More sleep, vitamin D, gym or frequent physical activity, those are all things that help too. Also stay away from anything that is negative, negative people, negative environment otherwise you might become like them. It sure doesn't help.
