The Edge Effect: Achieve Total Health and Longevity with the Balanced Brain Advantage by Eric R. Braverman ? Reviews, Discussion, Bookclubs, Lists
Anybody here read this book or have opinions on it? I just finished reading the book and taking the tests to determine neurochemical imbalances. I'm a little suspicious, because the tests identify me as acetylcholine, but a lot of my problems seem to match closer with GABA. I can't decide if my levels are too high or too low on these things. Some things match me and some things are way off.
Another thought I had is measuring the electrical waves from the brain. Supposedly the different chemicals have different wave frequencies, so it seems that a frequency spectrum of the waves would show which chemicals are deficient.
The tests showed me as majorly deficient in all four of the chemicals: dopamine, acetylcholine, GABA, and serotonin. According to the book, I should seek immediate medical help. I have a doctor's appointment next week, so I guess I will mention this to her. Answering true/false questions on a test seems a bit subjective to me.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Here is a copy of the test online for anybody who is interested:
