...empirical research has shown it is
not related to intelligence...
...but like ADD (I think?) it can make you look dumb in specific situations sometimes.
I don't have ADD, have no problems with impulsivity or something. I was negatively tested as a child for ADD. My symptoms are almost the opposite to ADD.
Research shows that SCT seems to be a unique disorder, but also have a lot comorbidity with ADD. So I hope to find someone in here who might have both or be diagnosed wrongly...
Some arreas I feel my unability to focus interferes with my performance exceptionally:
-orientation (especially at new places, I can't imagine a "map" of a specific arrea I'm in, and my trouble with orientating goes far beyond anyone else's I know)
-maths
-soccer (I zone out, and only realise the ball was kicked in my direction when people start yelling at me. Until I'm all alert and "there" again, the ball has already passed...
So anyone who can relate? Ways of dealing with it? What's your experience?
Grateful for any advice
