Hello Moogieotter: I'm not sure what you were looking for here in terms of replies. But I saw that no one had replied to your post so I thought I would. I've been on quite a few antidepressants over the years. However, in most cases I didn't stay on them long enough for coming off of them to be much of an issue. The last one I was on was Cymbalta... first the name brand & then the generic when it became available. I suppose I was on these for a total of a couple of years. I decided to go off of them when I changed health insurance plans & the out-of-pocket cost skyrocketed.

I had read that Cymbalta can be difficult to get off of. But my pdoc suggested a withdrawal schedule that spanned just 2 weeks. I followed it & had no difficulties at all. By the way, I was on Abilify for a short time before I went on Cymbalta. Abilify made everything I ate taste metallic. I pretty-much lost my appetite entirely.
