On online dating sites, it's easier for people to meet, and it just makes things easier for women especially to filter men, because men don't message women they don't find interesting in the first place. In real life though, you can chat with a women you like a little, even if things don't work out eventually. I've found that talking a little even if it doesn't work out is better than sending a woman you like a message after reading her profile and she ignores you from the outset. But at the same time, I cannot imagine a woman receiving maybe 20-30 messages at least a day can (even if she wants to) talk a little with all the men they message her. It's just a game.
