My sister lives in the middle of nowhere like that. It's enviro-shock for her visiting here, especially because highways and airport (and trains, and buses, and and and) are close at hand. To me, it is white noise. Especially the highway. I love the white noise of the highway!

I lived 2 miles away from the airport. The 2 most important expressways a mile a way. And I constantly complained. We installed hurricane proof double pane windows and doors, and I was still bothered by the noise.
It's like I'm been punish for all the bullcrap I said.
The worse part here is that it's all populated. But it's like everybody left.
Then you're afraid to make noise. We have canals in the backyards and
water carries sound. Sometimes I hear people talking from two blocks away.
Imagine living in a place that is dead and you can't even make noise.
