((((Rainbow)))) I'm hiding from my landlord too. Unfortunately, she lives next door! If I see she's outside when I head out to my car, I go back in for a few minutes. It sucks.

I did leave her a check today, knowing that 1) nothing gets processed on a Saturday and 2) she usually doesn't deposit them for a week anyway, and I get paid Wed. But, as it stands right now, if she cashes it Monday or Tuesday, it's going to bounce, and I knew that when I wrote it. My bank doesn't bounce checks anymore, they just cover it and then charge me up the wazoo , so she'll never know the difference....but I do.

At least I didn't go party with my rent money -- I spent it on gas (put over 400 miles on my car this week for work, gas is $3.19 a gallon here) and a bit of food.

Poverty sucks, fer shure. I hope your roommate comes around and accepts some responsibility.
