Be wary of diagnoses. They can be helpful, like my PTSD diagnosis. However, they can be damaging and labeling, pinpointing you into a box. You are a beautiful, worthy human being deserving of a happy life. You may want to find another doctor if you didn't find it helpful. I had one doctor who said I was coping very well with my PTSD, and the first one said that I have been depressed most of my life, and probably will be most of the future. That made me feel quite horrible, and I complained to her supervisor and he was glad I said something. It's like telling a cancer patient there is no hope, which is not true.
