In the classic board game "Life" there were blue pegs (shown in picture) for men/boys and pink ones for women/girls your game piece was a car that started with a peg to represent you. Then you would get married (add a peg) and usually have several children. The "car" only had six holes for pegs to fit into so if you had more than four children you had to stack them between the other pegs in the "car"
