Being recategorized into their own section doesn't mean that there's no overlap between dissociation and somatic symptoms, in my opinion. I mean, they moved PTSD from an anxiety disorder to a trauma disorder but that doesn't change the fact that anxiety is still a central component of the disorder. However you categorize the symptoms, dissociation involves segmenting sensory experiences, so somatic therapies are helpful. The DSM 5 is a diagnostic tool, not a treatment planner.
