I drink my caffeine in the morning, regardless of anything else. Sometimes I don't have any caffeine at all, so I guess I must say that my night meds are worn off by the time I get up in the morning most of the time.

I had a psychiatrist who was death on coffee until I scheduled an early morning appointment and let him see just how groggy the meds I was taking (at that time) left me, and how the coffee I brought with me aided that. He didn't argue with me after that about caffeine.
