I have an idea that might work for you...
First off, try the appeals process. (Can't hurt.)
Second, what dose are you taking? Let's say you need 200mg a day but your insurance will only pay for 100mg a day. Get your pdoc to give you a 90-day prescription for 100mg a day. That will give you 45 days worth (i.e., 6 weeks worth) of 200mg. (Basically you will take two 100mg pills a day to get to your 200mg.) That should give you enough time to appeal, and if the appeal doesn't work, you still have time to titrate down slowly
My point is, your insurance isn't going to know how much you take a day. They won't know if you take 1 pill or 5 pills. They'll assume you take 1 pill a day, but you will take 2 a day.
