I've been on Lithium for about 3 months now and have experienced minimal side effects so far. However, for the past 10 days or so I've been experiencing a painful, sharp sensation in my stomach (sort of in my upper intestines, just below where the sternum begins). It's like a stabbing pain that lasts for 30-60 seconds and it occurs probably 15-20 times per day (on average).

Has anyone else experienced this while on lithium? It feels almost like a tennis ball sized cramp .... nothing debilitating but enough to make me very uncomfortable, especially when in a sitting position.

My diet is pretty good and I haven't been experiencing diarrhea or anything like that so I'm not sure if its the lithium or something else.
