I understand what you mean; I got sober for my daughter. It wasn't for me at all. I hated myself too much to care about my own well being. It took the love for my daughter to stop the madness. Now I'm beginning to love myself a little more each day. I remember NA people always saying "you can't do it for your kids, or your parents...you have to do it for yourself"... I think as long as you get clean for someone or something that's all that matters.
