Why not be careful? It was unauthorized to begin with. And yes, there's creeps in this world. Why not suggest caution?

PS...because I took an internet safety course through the DA's office is how I know.
During this course, did they just say "be careful" with no examples of what to be careful of or how to be careful?

If "Unauthorized distribution of someone naked can be a criminal act" in Mass, is it this a state statute? Can you cite the charge?

You realize, don't you, that the person who actually snapped the photos is the owner and as the subject was consenting and of legal age, if he or she distributed the photos no laws were broken?

From a single Google search, the best information that I can find reads, "Only the state of New Jersey in the United States has a criminal offence that addresses this conduct (Non-Consensual Distribution of Intimate Images) specifically." - N.J. Code of Criminal Justice (tit.2c) §14-9c

The Massachusetts Privacy Act does a good job of citing what is and isn't protected but I can't find a thing about non-consensual distribution being a criminal act. Did you receive a handbook citing criminal codes? Or take notes?

I'm sure that the office of a State District Attorney wouldn't attempt to deceive anyone; I would just think that they would be more forthcoming with specific suggestions rather than "be careful" and suggesting that it's a criminal act without providing information about charges, liability, etc.

And, as I said, in the unlikely event that the distributor was also the photographer any liability would be exist.

Yes, there are creepy people around. I have difficulty imagining what harm a creepy person might cause with a collection of photos of a naked adult, but I'm more evil than creepy and I'm not terribly creative. Could you suggest something?

I'm not sure that I'm clear on what living in Massachusetts means in this context? Did you mean New Jersey? I know that I can get confused sometime when I'm typing faster than I can think.
