(((Girl)))) therapy can be heart-wrenching. You do need to let your T know about your response from this session. She can help lessen it a number of ways.
Yes, therapists move along to the next patient. But they don't forget you. Sometimes a T takes that 10 minutes or so inbetween to reflect upon what just happened in session, sometimes they spend it on you prior to the session... and always, at some time during their week, they REALLY dwell on each session, each patient and make notes and check methods and decide what steps they will take next with you to help you on your journey.
That there are others who also hurt does not diminish your hurt and your T's caring for you. That your T can also help others who hurt does not make her help for you shallow.
I think we have all felt like you have after this session. And from time to time it happens to us again. Yet we act like you too, I NEED MORE TIME but, thinking about what we feel like after just one hour, how much worse (more) would we feel if we had dug for TWO hours!?
sigh. just be sure to tell your T how long it took you to recover...therapy is designed to make us reflect... but not stop our lives.
