Hello ConflagrationInTheN: The Skeezyks has come to believe that, for himself anyway, the only answer is simple acceptance of the way things are & who he is. The Skeezyks is older however; & being older has its advantages. I no longer need to imagine all of the ways in which I might be better & then castigate myself for not striving to be so. I can simply sit back relax (or at least try to) & be who I am. If that means I'm worthless...then so be it... hey... somebody's got to do it... so it might as well be me... After all... I have a lot of experience with it!

Seriously though, from my perspective, being able to accept yourself just as you are is a most important first step. Beyond that, nothing succeeds like success. So another way to stop feeling worthless is to find some little things you can succeed at & then do them. Then find some similar little things, etc. As you begin to string together little successes, you may begin to have a different perspective with regard to yourself. Beyond that, being of service to others is also a generally accepted way of feeling better about yourself. So doing some variety of volunteer work that benefits others can also help you to feel better about yourself. Plus it can be a way of starting to string together some of those little successes I mentioned above. The fact that you're looking for ways to feel better is itself a good sign! Good luck!
