You were sexually assaulted regardless of whether penetration by penis actually occurred or not. Report it to the police even now to establish a record so that should the circumstances transpire you have more on your side to pursue legal action. I don't know that the police will be very "helpful" but doing so would be the right thing (from a crimes should reported perspective.) If you feel you can't, then don't - but I hope you will consider it.

Please don't get too hung up on the "virgin" label. Whether you are or are not as a result of this traumatic experience, the issue of virginity does not define your worth as a person or your worth as female. Really.
