Does anyone notice themselves saying the wrong word when they are talking? I don't mean similar words.. like cup instead of bowl. Or sock instead of shoe. I mean a different word with a different meaning, but a word that sounds the same?

This morning, I was telling my son to have fun at the auction tonight, but it came out as "Have fun at the oxygen!"

It was bizarre and kind of upsetting. I have done similar things before, but it was more akin to not being able to find the right word or being distracted and saying the wrong word, wrong name, etc. Not like this.

I wonder if it could be stress. I am stressed to THE MAX lately - making changes to address this, but it will be slow going. I also have several mental health issues, but am not on any meds for the last year or so, so it isn't medication related.

I deal with anxiety, depression and OCD.

Diagnosed years ago with bipolar and ADD, although those two diagnoses might not be accurate.

I have also been having incredibly vivid, traumatizing dreams for the last few nights in a row which lead me to think it's stress.

Anyway.. thanks for sharing any insight or your own experiences with this!
I do think it is STRESS because I do that a lot...and mostly when I am severly stressed out.
Thanks for this!
