The first thing I do now is make sure I'm taking all my vitamins. I pay attention to my vitamin D especially. If it's warm and sunny, I try to get outdoors. I try to schedule time with family and friends. I schedule plenty of time for sleep. Then I try to do things I enjoy and watch things to make me laugh. I do everything I can to reduce stress.
Only after I've exhausted all of that, and at least a month goes by, then I schedule with my pdoc to discuss med changes.
