Debbie, what will they do for the hole in his mouth? Will it heal on its own, or will they have to repair it somehow? Was that caused by the infection or an abscess?

I remember when strangles went through a barn I was boarding at. Fortunately, my horse only got a mild case, and it cleared up quickly, but a couple of the horses really got severe abscesses that drained forever (seemed like). That has to be one of the more disgusting horse care issues (well, that and cleaning smegma).
